On 5 March, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) officially launched the Svoboda Satellite Package, a pioneering initiative.

Around 20 journalists were arrested for a few hours on 3 February 2024 while covering a protest near the Kremlin by the wives of men mobilised to fight in Ukraine.

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) announced today that Jim Phillipoff will head the new Svoboda Satellite project which aims to broadcast independent and pluralistic audio and video content via satellite to Russian speakers everywhere via satellite.
