Mireille Delmas-Marty
Mireille Delmas-Marty is a distinguished French legal scholar who is an emeritus professor of the Collège de France and a member of the Academic Institute of France. Aside from an academic career (including professorships at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University, where she founded and ran the comparative law research unit, and at the Collège de France, and honorary doctorates from eight universities), she has participated as an expert in various projects within national institutions (for example, with the French president’s office on revision of the constitution in 1992), European institutions (coordinator of the expert committee for the creation of a European prosecutor’s office), and international institutions (with the prosecutor’s office of the International Criminal Court from 2011 to 2015). As a humanist, she has encouraged the development of a community of values among visionary legal scholars like herself and her research is currently focused on the emergence of a universal common law.
